The highest standard for NEPTS and Home-to school transport

Hummingbird

Mobility Exchange is the national accrediting body for the Hummingbird service standards program.

 

This accreditation ensures that providers of high-risk, non-emergency patient, community care and home to school transport services are operating to the highest level.

Experts from Mobility Exchange have created a complete compliance system including:

  • Driver training
  • Accident and Incident reporting
  • Policy and procedures
  • Audit logging
  • Ongoing learning and improvement

Hummingbird course learning objectives are aligned with the mandatory Core Standard Training Framework; standards Mobility Exchange assisted in developing as part of the work resulting from the NHS NEPTS review 2021 (https://www.england.nhs.uk/urgent-emergency-care/improving-ambulance-services/nepts-review/).

Whilst the course framework is specifically designed for taxi and PHV services, use of the compliance system, and accreditation under Hummingbird, is not suitable for generic taxi/PHV transport services.

In addition to training, Hummingbird monitors ongoing standards, using regular updates, knowledge checks and secure reporting mechanisms, to give service users and commissioners of patient transport services, continual reassurance through documented audit logs.
