Every passenger.
Every journey.
Safe.
Safe.Cab is a local authority-backed campaign to raise safeguarding standards across licensed taxis and private hire vehicles — through free driver seminars, public accreditation, and a searchable national register.
A campaign councils back.
A standard drivers earn.
A mark passengers trust.
Safe.Cab brings together local politicians, licensed drivers, and passengers around a single shared standard. Councils promote a free seminar. Drivers attend, sign up to Omni — a free compliance and safeguarding platform — and earn Safe.Cab accreditation. Their details go live on a public, searchable register.
The administrative burden falls entirely on us. Councils do one thing: tell their licensed drivers a free seminar is available.
A community safety win.
At zero cost.
Safe.Cab is designed to give elected politicians a concrete, visible safeguarding initiative they can put their name to — without the procurement process, budget pressure, or officer time that most campaigns require.

From council email to accredited driver
Four steps. No cost. No admin burden on councils or drivers.
Council sends one email
Your licensing team emails Safe.Cab seminar details to all licensed drivers using their existing register.
Drivers attend the seminar
Free, 90-minute safeguarding seminar delivered by our team. Practical, relevant, and CPD-counted.
Earn Safe.Cab status
Drivers who complete the seminar and activate their free Omni account are awarded Safe.Cab accreditation on the day.
Listed on the public register
Accredited drivers are automatically added to a searchable public register visible to passengers and councils.
Earn something that makes you stand out.
Safe.Cab accreditation is free to earn and permanently visible. Once you complete the seminar, your Safe.Cab status appears on the public register — searchable by passengers, council officers, and transport commissioners.
It is not a licence condition. It is something you chose to do. That distinction matters to passengers.

When you see the Safe.Cab mark on a driver's profile, you know they have completed accredited safeguarding training and are registered on the national Safe.Cab database.
Know before you get in.
All licensed taxi and PHV drivers in England are checked by their local licensing authority. Safe.Cab goes further: accredited drivers have completed additional safeguarding training and chosen to be publicly registered.
That choice is what the Safe.Cab mark means. It is not a legal requirement. It is a standard drivers voluntarily met because they take passenger safety seriously.

Safe.Cab founding councils are recognised publicly and receive first access to seminar scheduling, campaign materials, and the national Safe.Cab register. Founding status is available to the first ten councils to back the campaign.
